Where is God

If every human heart could become an abode of God then we won’t need to build any more places of worship. Nor would we need to scream out loud God’s name from every corner, since a silent whisper within would suffice.

 

If the concept and belief of God must exist then let God be like water that we all need to drink to survive irrespective of our colour, caste, language, nationality, economic status, gender or beliefs or like that of air, which again we all must breathe without discrimination to sustain. These are the universal aspects of nature that binds us all into one unified code of life and so should be the idea of God. Instead of dividing it must polarize us into one.

 

Instead of more bloodshed, hatred and symbolic propagation of God what we really need at this hour is compassion and kindness, acceptability and the willingness to open our minds, hearts and souls to the possibility of oneness in this world. If each one of us capable of feeding just one more outside his own did, I guess far less would go hungry in this world. If each one of us capable of sheltering just one more outside his own did, then I am certain far less would be homeless on our planet. If each one of us capable of offering clothing to just one more outside his own did, then far less would go bare on Earth.

 

We certainly need revolution of science, medicine, knowledge, yet the biggest revolution that we need today is within ourselves. Why should we wait for the Golden Age to come or our Messiah to arrive or some other incarnation of God to purge us of our miseries when we all can end it right now right within ourselves! Why can’t we start building a good planet a human family worldwide ourselves? Isn’t that the evolution we all need to undertake as one race!

 

I doubt if even such holistic and altruistic measures can end human suffering since time and aging will continue to ravage us, yet I believe it would be a much better world than the one we currently occupy.

 

I would like to conclude with this offhand remark that a great thinker of the 21st century once made when asked about the existence of God. The great thinker guffawed loudly and uttered with conviction: absolutely my dear fellow, God certainly exists but alas God has now gone to Dog.

Talang Pass – following the goat trail from Tang to Holi

  Chamba side view from Talang Pass, Mani Mahesh Kailash in the center At 4667m Talang is touted as the highest pass that local shepherds use to cross the Dhauladhar Mountain Range from Kangra to Chamba and back during their annual migration with their herds. This pass had been on my radar for several years and this year since the pandemic put a hold to my international trips, I finally crossed it. In this post I won’t talk much about the pass history itself rather give a factual account of how we crossed it. Suffice to say that till now Talang Pass has very little mention or details online. Singhar Pass (Jot) 4350m – journey to the killer pass

  Singhar Pass, temple and view of Chamba side After a brief respite once again my friend Ravinder from Tangroti and I headed up to yet another Dhauladhar pass connecting Kangra with Chamba. This time our objective was the dreaded Singhar Pass, which has also been called the killer pass. To my knowledge, this is the only Dhauladhar Pass that even the Gaddis (shepherds) are bit wary of crossing. Hence trekkers crossing this pass is extremely rare. I know of only one instance before us that of two friends of mine, Rijul and Tarun, both seasoned hikers. A brief mention about the pass altitude. Figures vary about its height but according to my altimeter and referring to Army Survey maps I would place the height between 4330 to 4350m hence I would settle for the higher figure of 4350m.
